The Tamaraws breezed their way through the First Quarter as Joe Trinidad shelled out seven points at the beginning of the game and Prince Orizu patrolled the middle of the Tigers’ court to prevent them from scoring.

UST’s Renzo Subido avoided FEU’s defense through some sneaky side steps and added seven points to his team’s score. But FEU Tamaraw Monbert Arong outscored Subido, giving the Tamaraws a 13 point lead at the end of the first half, 42 – 29.

Trinidad scored nine points at the beginning of the second half and the Tamaraws never lost hold of their lead against the Tigers.

King Tiger Louie Vigil rallied during the end of the game with 12 points to add but wasn’t sufficient for a comeback from UST.

Wendel Comboy of the Tamaraws received two free throw shots and ended the game at 79 – 72.

FEU is tied at the second spot with the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles and National University Bulldogs.

The Tamaraws will have a chance to secure the second spot in a game against the NU Bulldogs on October 5, 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena.###
