Newcomer crew Stump bagged its first podium finish, followed by La Salle Dance Company-Street (LSDC Street) and The Dance Collective.

UST based crew Juvenile entertained the crowd with their Straight Outta Compton performance, earning them a total of 77.167 from the judges.

"I’m very proud of them. The crew keeps growing & showing something fresh every competition," Juvenile co-founder Arty Zialcita said.

The Chosen Ground series is UP Street Dance Club's annual mid-year concert and dance competition.

On its twelfth year, 11 of the best dance crews around the metro battled for a chance to win the Championship and a cash prize of 25,000 pesos.

As part of its theme "Versus" in this year's competition, the teams were required to do segments with an arcade-like vibe.

For this year's group division, crews such as Junior FMD Extreme, Old School, Rhythmic Soul, The Dance Collective, Attraction Crew, The Comrades, Juvenile, LSDC Street, Dis Co Motion, RS Playback, and Stump went head-to-head to compete for the championship.

Last year's winners included crews such as Next to Innocence, The Council, and Rythmic Soul.

Freestylers also brought their moves to the Skydome as Chosen Ground's 3-on-3 Free Style Battle Elimination, Ground Zero finalists I.C.E., 2NE1, Tha Project, and Reppin Down battled it out for the grand finals.

I.C.E. was reigned champion in the freestyle division.

A special Avatar-themed showcase was performed by the four finalists before being critiqued by judges waacking pro Christian "Afrodite" Lao, krump master Miguel "1K" Colon, and b-boy veteran Jay Masta. ###
