Magnitude 5 quake strikes Quezon Province

A magnitude 5 earthquake struck Quezon Province at around 3:10 in the afternoon on Thursday, November 11, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The earthquake’s depth of focus was 11km, which hit 25km northwest of General Nakar, Quezon Province PHIVOLCS’s Twitter account said.

No damage or injury had been reported.

The earthquake was felt in cities including Quezon City, Tagaytay City and Taguig City as well as provinces near Metro Manila.

Miguel Escuevo, a resident of Angono, Rizal described his experience when the earthquake shook Luzon.

“Nakaupo nga ako sa harap ng tv tapos biglang nag-shake ‘yung lupa, naramdaman ko naman kaso akala ko ‘yung ginagawang kalsada lang,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jomalig Island in Quezon Province was recorded to have had a 2.3 magnitude earthquake last November 8.###
