Along with youth groups and martial law victims, protesters took to the Quirino Grandstand their dismay over the sudden burial of Marcos last Nov.18.

“Ito ay pagpapakita ng naglalagablab na galit ng mga kabataan, [dahil] paano nga naman kung ang mga kabataan sa kasalukuyan at sa hinaharap ay ang ituturing nalang na bayani ay si Marcos?” JP Rosos, League of Filipino Students national spokesperson, said in an interview with the Pantograph.

Kabataan Partylist Representative Sarah Elago stressed the need for “stronger and larger” protests to show disagreement towards the Marcoses’s return to power as sanctioned by Duterte.

“Ang sinisingil natin [ay] si President Duterte sa pagbibigay ng go-ahead sa lagay na ‘to ay nagiging instrumento doon sa rehab ng mga Marcoses,” Elago said in an interview.

Elago said Duterte might be favoring state fascism in connection to his oral command of letting Marcos be buried in the LNMB.

“Mukhang nagkakaroon (si Duterte) ng growing liking doon sa pagpapatuloy at pagpapaigting ng state fascism na ating tinututulan,” she said.

Members of the Duterte Youth were also present in Luneta to counter the anti-Marcos protest and voice their support for the president and the Supreme Court’s decision.

"We see that President Marcos is really worthy to be buried there," Duterte Youth chairperson Ronald Cardema said in an interview.

An estimated number of 1,500 protesters were present at the Quirino Grandstand according to the Philippine National Police.

Another anti-Marcos protest is scheduled on Nov. 30 at the EDSA People Power Monument. ###
