UST alumna is new assistant vice president of St. Francis Hospital in New York

An alumna of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) was appointed as the new Assistant Vice President of St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York.

Carina Suba, RN, MSN obtained her bachelor of science in Nursing from UST in 1981 and graduated summa cum laude. She was also hailed as a Rector’s Awardee for Academic Excellence in the same year.

She obtained her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Hunter College in New York City and became a Nurse Executive Board Certified and Certified Coding Specialist.

Suba was the former Director of the Clinical Documentation Program of the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. She also held the same position before in the Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.

Prior to her appointment of director, she had held management positions in different hospitals in New York.

She was also a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse and a registered nurse, certified in Medical-Surgical.

In May 2012, a blog post in Nurse.com regarded Carina as one of New York’s notable nurses with achievements to share as she was the newly-appointed Director of CDI in Lenox Hill Hospital at that time.

Carina is married to Fedinand G. Suba, an alumnus of the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law and the second highest ranking Knight Grand Officer of Rizal (KGOR) granted in the 6th Regional Assembly of the Knights of Rizal held in New Jersey last September 2-5, 2016.###
