New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that blast was an “intentional act” as a second device was found four blocks away.

“Investigation is ongoing. Though we believe this was an intentional act, there is no credible terror threat against NYC at this moment.” De Blacio said on his official twitter account early Sunday.

The New York Police Department (NYDP) believes that reportedly a second device, which was found on West 27th Street, four blocks from the prior blast on West 23rd, was the cause of the blast.

The pressure cooker, linked by silver duct tape to what shows to be a cellphone, was the said object found near the blast.

Pressure cookers were used as explosive devices in the deadly Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

NYDP spokesman J. Peter Donald said in a report from CNN that 29 people were injured in the ‘incredibly loud’ explosion. One of them suffered a serious wound while the other injuries were minor such as scrapes and bruises.

The blast happened a block away from Eataly, a popular Italian market and eatery, and the district was known to have many late-night music clubs.

The NYDP has been looking at a surveillance video that shows a human near the scene, in an effort to resolve the connection of the individual to the blast.

De Blasio also mentioned that an initial incident where a pipe bomb blasted near a Marine charity run. There were no injuries reported on the said incident.

The White House is being kept up to date on the investigation.###
