Today marks the 44th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law.
The late dictator Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial Law on Sept. 21 1972 until 1981.
According to Amnesty International, 70,000 people were imprisoned, 34,000 were tortured and 3,240 were killed under Martial Law.
