Kiwi landscapes in a pinoy prospect

Fine Art Abstract Photographer Jose Mari Delgado debuts his collection of landscape photography in Yuchengco Museum in his exhibit titled: The Open Spaces: New Zealand through the Lens of a Filipino.

Delgado showed the grandiose diversity of New Zealand’s terrain through the exhibit using a 35mm and medium format digital camera. Some of the snaps featured aerial shots from a chartered plan over Milford Sound and its surrounding areas.

The landscape portfolio brings to life Delgado’s three recent visits to the North and South Islands of New Zealand, including drives from Auckland to Wellington, and from Christchurch to Queenstown.

Hanged on white walls, the photographs’ colors stand out, presenting the exhibited photos with 3D effect.

The photographs measure 20”x30” printed on aluminium with the use of ChromaLuxe sublimation dye. The materials used add to the vibrant personality of the landscapes, making the colors more vivid.

This makes the places on the photographs more inviting. The exhibit is part of the celebration of New Zealand’s 50 years of diplomatic relations with the Philippines. The Philippine Airlines and Immigration New Zealand formed a partnership to launch non-stop flights available from Manila to Auckland without having to visit other cities via Cairns.

Together with PAL, New Zealand Embassy, Fonterra Brands and Don Revy wines assisted in the arrangement of the said exhibit.

Highlighting the pristine condition of their landscape, the exhibit is an invitation to see New Zealand firsthand.

Open Spaces: New Zealand through the Lens of a Filipino will be displayed at the Dragon Gallery 2/F of Yuchengco Museum until October 5.###
