PMPC at its 30th year

The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) held its 30th Star Awards for Television and 8th Star Awards for Music last October 23 at the Novotel Hotel in Cubao.

Different stars and musicians flocked at the Monet Grand Ballroom in the hopes of bagging an award. In this year's special event, the PMPC decided to celebrate two awards show in one night wherein they brought together the Star Awards for Music and the Star Awards for Television. Unlike in previous years' shows, where they awarded the music and TV awardees at separate events.

PMPC President Fernan de Guzman expressed how making the double event possible was not a joke. He mentioned that, "putting notable artists from the music and television industry was not easy, but with the guide of the Lord above everything can be possible."

"This is truly a momentous event not only for our group, the PMPC, but also for the key players in both the music and TV industry," De Guzman added.

The star-studded award show was dominated by ABS-CBN as they won this year's Best Station award. They proved their eminence as ABS-CBN talents Darren Espanto and Coco Martin ruled the music and television category respectively.

Performers that night included Sam Concepcion, 4th Impact, Hashtags, Martin Nievera, Jason Dy, and many more.

This year's special awards covered -- the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award that was received by Dulce, the Parangal Levi Celerio which was received by Viva's big boss Vic del Rosario, and the Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Award which was received by the Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.

Founded in 1987, the PMPC Star Awards is an annual award-giving show recognizing outstanding programs produced by TV networks in the Philippines. ###
