NU Pep Squad pulls off 4-peat in UAAP Cheerdance

The National University Pep Squad claimed its fourth straight UAAP Cheerdance Competition championship today through their flawless routines that wowed the Araneta Coliseum.

NU, showcasing a futuristic theme, clinched the top spot after scoring 711 points. It was the second time a university won four-in-row in the history of UAAP Cheerdance.

The University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe was the first to accomplish a five peat championship from 2002 to 2006.

The Far Eastern University Cheering Squad landed second, garnering 658.5 points with its Broadway-inspired performance.

The Adamson University Pep Squad placed third with 655 points.

The NU Pep Squad also topped the Group Stunts Competition. Trailing behind was UST and FEU, who placed second and third, respectively.

NU also won the Best Toss and Best Pyramid awards.

The reigning champion pocketed a cash prize of P340,000 while FEU and AdU bagged P200,000 and P140,000, respectively.

The UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe placed fourth followed by the UE Pep Squad.

The DLSU Animo Squad landed on 6th place while the Ateneo Babble Battalion came in 7th place.###
